Benefits are laughable. Raises are a joke. No opportunity to grow. After three years I was making less than my starting rate adjusted for inflation. All focus is on how good the company looks on a spreadsheet to highspring. (The wonders of venture capitalists buying out a startup and squeezing every last percentage some
econ major speculated they could get). Thought they matched 401k contributions but turns out that’s only if the company is profitable enough that year. Two whole years of missed out contributions. 10 levels of middle management bureaucracy anywhere you look. Management will endlessly agree to new responsibilities in contract renewals but that never results in a pay increase. My responsibilities multiplied by a factor of at-least 10 since my initial hiring. Impossible to know who’s actually in charge or what. My first year we had one company wide meeting spread over a couple days where I was actually present with Rachel in a call and it felt like an actual family atmosphere. As I said that was my first year and I was never invited to one of those virtual events again. SLA over everything. They can’t replace every one of you with machines (yet) but it’s clear they really, really wish they could.
