Pros

Great clearance opportunity: Sponsored for a TS-SCI—valuable if you didn’t have one previously. Flexible start: Allowed to begin on Secret-level work while waiting for TS-SCI to process. Collaborative environment: Solid working relationships with other FSA contractor co-workers.

Cons

Low pay: Compensation was on the lower end for DC-area TS-SCI cleared positions. Poor leave accrual: No upfront vacation/sick leave; only 1.25 hrs sick + 2 hrs annual leave per pay period. Restrictive advanced leave: Up to 40 hours allowed, but must be repaid if leaving before a year.

Thank you for your review! We're glad to hear about your collaborative work environment and appreciate your high rating for Culture & Values. While pay is set according to our contracts and the Department of Labor, we do increase pay for employees whenever possible and offer bonuses based on performance. Our paid time off is above industry standard, with employees typically receiving no less than 28 days and the majority of recently hired employees receiving a minimum of 7 sick days, 10 vacation days, and 11 holidays. Please email us at qc@fsafederal.com with any suggestions you may have on how we can improve.

Thank you for the great review! We love the list you provided under pros. The one we're most excited about is "opportunities for continued learning" as we've been working hard to provide employees with a variety of professional development options. Pay is set according to our contracts and the Department of Labor; however, we understand the importance of wages and do increase pay for employees whenever possible. If you have any suggestions on how we might improve, please reach out to your FSA Senior Manager.

Pros

Good job for someone just out of college to get experience with the federal government and law enforcement. There are no incentives to stay long term & make it a career - no pay raises, no promotions, etc. But good for the resume and to get a foot in the door for federal positions. Also, position is good for retired law enforcement who are collecting their pension etc. but want to stay busy. The culture of the job is highly dependent on what agency you’re contracting for - DEA, FBI, ATF, USAO, etc. - & that specific office.

Cons

No pay raises. No promotions. Sub-par benefits.

Thank you for sharing your perspective! We agree FSA can be a great springboard whether you’re early in your career or a retired law enforcement professional looking to stay engaged with meaningful work. As a government contractor, career advancement and pay are limited to the positions and locations our customers order; however, FSA provides a variety of professional development opportunities, including tuition reimbursement and training, and we work to increase pay whenever possible. If you have suggestions for improvement, we’d love to hear them; please email us at qc@fsafederal.com.
