Pros

Good job for someone just out of college to get experience with the federal government and law enforcement. There are no incentives to stay long term & make it a career - no pay raises, no promotions, etc. But good for the resume and to get a foot in the door for federal positions. Also, position is good for retired law enforcement who are collecting their pension etc. but want to stay busy. The culture of the job is highly dependent on what agency you’re contracting for - DEA, FBI, ATF, USAO, etc. - & that specific office.

Cons

No pay raises. No promotions. Sub-par benefits.

Thank you for sharing your perspective! We agree FSA can be a great springboard whether you’re early in your career or a retired law enforcement professional looking to stay engaged with meaningful work. As a government contractor, career advancement and pay are limited to the positions and locations our customers order; however, FSA provides a variety of professional development opportunities, including tuition reimbursement and training, and we work to increase pay whenever possible. If you have suggestions for improvement, we’d love to hear them; please email us at qc@fsafederal.com.

Thank you for the great review! We love the list you provided under pros. The one we're most excited about is "opportunities for continued learning" as we've been working hard to provide employees with a variety of professional development options. Pay is set according to our contracts and the Department of Labor; however, we understand the importance of wages and do increase pay for employees whenever possible. If you have any suggestions on how we might improve, please reach out to your FSA Senior Manager.

Pros

They observe all holidays in accordance with the federal government.

Cons

You have to pay for parking. You cannot negotiate it. You are underpaid, exploited and FSA will not have your back. Their allegiance is to the Federal Government, not you. The environment is High School with the mean girls bullying you and treating you unprofessionally. FSA Never checks up on you or reprimands anyone when you raise your concerns. They do not care and you will be overworked. Exploited. There is no room for advancement. When a position opens up, they will bring in someone from the outside and not advance from within. Upper management making 6 figures, while we are doing the hard work and getting paid pennies on the dollar!

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. We're disappointed to hear about your experience and we take concerns like yours very seriously. We acknowledge that some aspects of being a government contractor, such as pay, can feel frustrating. However, pay is set according to our contracts and the Department of Labor, and we do increase pay for employees whenever possible. We also offer a commuter benefit program, which provides employees an opportunity to pay for qualified commuting expenses with tax-free contributions, and a Professional Development Program, which has helped a number of employees obtain higher paying positions. Most importantly, we're troubled to hear about your work environment and claims of bullying. We strive to foster a professional, respectful workplace and investigate these concerns fully when they're raised. If you feel comfortable doing so, we encourage you to reach out to our Ethics Hotline so we can take appropriate action.
