Pros

Easy work, air conditioned vehicles.

Cons

Some schedules don't allow adequate sleep time and rest time if you live more than an hour from the yard. CDL requirements are 10 hours driving in a 12 hour period, including personal driving time, and I was over an hour from the yard with traffic. Regular shifts could be 9 hours, then you might get pulled for a fixed route for 3-4 additional hours due to driver call outs.

Pros

Most of the managers have moments of understanding and decent pay

Cons

High turnover of employees, strict point system with little to no flexibility if you miss 5 days of work in 6 months to a year you're out of a job. Job insecurity, no pay during holidays or breaks in the school year. In the summer they reduce hours and cut the workforce almost in half. Leaving new employees at the bottom of the senority list either unemployed or income cut In half. There is favoritism and high value for senior employees while new employees are often treated as expendable. Also constant monitoring on the bus and to many on the deck supervisors micromanage drivers making everything toxic. Plus being heavily monitored by the guy overseeing the contract for the university is always an enemy off the driver's. The contractor has no faith in the transdev organization and micromanage them as well.
