Pros

Stock has done well. Benefits are OK.

Cons

Trane has had a tendency to chase the new shiny object. Their last 5 or 6 acquisitions have been wildly overpaid for - and they continue to chase the next big thing - Datacenters - paying for new companies when they are at a premium. CEO's get bonuses, workers get laid off. We lost a lot of good folks recently. Trane implemented a flexible work arrangement and I was able to retain strong staff members who needed the flexibility.. ie. working mothers, families. They reverted those plans, gut their DEI initiatives, and the people are the ones to suffer - just to satisfy that large rent in Davidson.

Pros

It is becoming harder to think of any. The retirement match continues to be good but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s on the chopping block soon.

Cons

The company feels like it is going off the deep end with strict, rigid and careless mandates regarding a return to office policy. They continue to double down on the fact that this mandate is to bolster culture and collaboration. In the weeks since this was first announced you can feel a noticeable shift in morale across the company. What was once thought of as a great company who values their people is now a corporate giant that is only focused on stock price and shareholder value. They have gone so far as to confirm that going forward they will look to source talent only from locations that can be onsite. If and only if talent cannot be sourced in this way will they open it up to other geographies. This is mind-blowingly short sited as one of the reasons they have good talent was their ability to support remote workers due to the global team set up. This company is going downhill and fast. I have zero trust in executive leadership and quite frankly am so disappointed it’s hard to get through each day wondering what new announcement will come. From the multiple rounds of recent layoffs to the return to office mandate this is no longer a company that values their employees.
