Pros

Lots of overtime. The residents are wonderful.

Cons

The worst work/life balance I’ve ever seen from an employer. Management has been the most unprofessional I have ever encountered out of any organization or company I have ever worked for. Calling out, even with state sick time, management will berate you, guilt you, interrogate you, etc. (all illegal) Despite what they teach onboarding training, the organization will intentionally put you in dangerous situations where you are fully liable if things go wrong. There is 0 regard for the safety of staff and the residents. Staff in general is extremely unprofessional and there is hardly any vetting. There is no drug test, and they’ve kept on staff that have endangered the well being of residents. If you take on a lot of shifts you’re untouchable. Most houses are understaffed. The likelihood of getting stuck at work, being forced to work a longer shift with 0 notice is common. Some people get stuck working 24 hours +. The longest we ever had was a 32 hour shift.
