Pros

Opportunities for grow to become a grosser and histotech Private security for the parking lot. Some Histotechs are very helpful and professional.

Cons

Two jobs in one: Lab assistant and accessioner. Way too much work for one person. Multiple minor tasks that snowballed and consumed more time than planned. A self-important small group of women that think they are the only ones pulling their weight, and the absence of strong management that has given these women the freedom to behave unprofessionally and overstepping into supervisory roles. Workload is heavy and there is no sense of accomplishment or encouragement because the only ones paying attention are the self-important group that discredit your efforts. Your responsibilities as an accesioner aren’t clear, so you are often coerced to work late to finished, or your coworkers will be upset. Meanwhile, employees that work as accesioners only, finish early and do nothing during the rest of the shift.

Pros

I have a great manager and supervisor. They are kind and caring. They treat us like family. Pathgroup seriously cares about giving great patient care and respect. They treat their employees the same. Work hard for them and they will work hard for you.

Cons

They expect you to show up for work and give a fair days work for a fair days pay. I don't really have any cons!

Pros

Gained valuable hands-on experience in specimen processing and laboratory workflows. Fast-paced environment helped build strong attention to detail, time management, and efficiency. Exposure to EMR systems and collaboration with laboratory and clinical teams.

Cons

Workload and pace can be demanding depending on staffing and specimen volume. Some roles have limited advancement opportunities without additional training or certifications.
