Pros

Good pay and health benefits, even for entry level personals. Deeply discounted TV/Internet service. That's it.

Cons

Would you like a job that tearing people down, disparaging others, and discrimination is considered peak humor? And if you question it, you are branded "too sensitive" and you "shouldn't take things too seriously?" Would you like to work where you are expected to become a perfect cold sales person and have perfect knowledge of their ALL their product within months of hire? And then have a supervisor say that it's your fault for not knowing something? Would you like to be some place where upper management will feel the need to assert their dominance over you or shut you up if they disagree with you or feel offended by something you said? What about dealing with customers who say you/optimum sucks or worse at least 3-4 times a day? Or dealing with customers who were given incorrect information multiple times a day? Or even dealing with the fallout of disrespectful technicians who talks badly about the product, leaves in the middle of set ups or repairs, or never even bothers to show up to install equipment? What about training that doesn't even fill you in about the variety of products this company offers or how the system works? How about feeling sick to your stomach before each shift and feeling an anxiety attack coming every Sunday night? Than I've got a job for you!

Pros

Benefits are decent, and work-life balance is generally okay, especially on the corporate side. I worked in the corporate office, so your experience may vary depending on the team. Overall, I found the people to be very friendly.

Cons

I was brought in to help elevate the quality and strategic messaging of video content for the corporate team. Some of the existing edits were falling short due to limited professional experience with high-level corporate clients. Unfortunately, despite my background in delivering polished work for Fortune 500 companies, I was placed in a challenging situation where project leadership and creative control were reassigned in a way that limited my ability to apply the standards expected by leadership. This created inefficiencies and prevented the team from consistently meeting quality expectations. I also observed instances where team members were assigned tasks significantly outside their core expertise (for example, technical operations staff handling web design), which led to noticeably lower-quality deliverables being released to the public. This can unintentionally signal to customers that the company’s standards are not as high as they should be. Additionally, a few long-tenured employees appeared to be struggling with the company’s new strategic direction under current leadership, and in some cases expressed open negativity. Left unaddressed, this type of sentiment can spread and impact team morale and performance.
