Pros
While my time at the agency came with its challenges, it also offered meaningful exposure and learning opportunities. I had the chance to work across diverse brands and categories I had never engaged with before, which significantly broadened my understanding of the industry. Certain leaders played a pivotal role in my growth, trusting me with a high degree of creative freedom and encouraging me to experiment, explore ideas, and push boundaries, regardless of whether the work was ultimately taken forward. This environment helped me build confidence in defending my ideas and articulating my creative thinking. There were individuals within the system who were supportive, ensured I was given opportunities to learn, and actively looked out for my development, making parts of my journey both rewarding and formative. Over time, however, as the team evolved, this dynamic gradually shifted, and the culture became less consistent in enabling the same openness and merit-led opportunities across the board.

Work Distribution Related Issues: There is noticeable favouritism in project allocation, recognition, and leadership support. High-visibility briefs are often given to select individuals, while juniors are left with smaller jobs and are rarely credited for their contributions. Additionally, creative work is sometimes reassigned without acknowledgment. Lack of Brand Alignment & Growth Opportunities: Brand alignment is often overlooked, and there is little room for junior employees to take on meaningful projects. Opportunities for professional growth are scarce, and leadership does not actively invest in mentorship. Leadership Support and Recognition Related Issues: Leadership does not foster a supportive or learning-oriented environment. There has been no structured performance review, appraisal, or promotion process during my time at the agency and constructive guidance has been minimal. Good work and long-term efforts often go unrecognized. Work Culture and Low Morale Related Issues: The work culture lacks motivation, appreciation, and fairness. Employees are often benched or sidelined without clear communication, causing a decline in confidence. Workplace policies such as leave approvals, attendance requirements, and even seating arrangements are inconsistently enforced, benefiting only a few. Workplace Conduct Related Issues: Instances of alienation based on language or background have occurred with me, making inclusivity a concern. Additionally, access to basic work resources, like a functional laptop, has been a prolonged struggle. The agency has great potential, but a fairer, more supportive culture is essential for long-term success.
