Pros
Good environment and work from home
Cons
No as of now all good
Pros
I love being able to work from home most days (2 days avg in office per month). This has changed my work life balance completely. The benefit package is generous, and has literally saved my life. My colleagues are overall really good human beings, and being in the office when I have to be is fun and engaging.
Cons
My specific role can be stressful and demanding at times, as it is patient and field/sales facing, and there are often many competing priorities. I am hourly and phone based, so I am bound by an hourly schedule which lacks flexibility to design my own workday/workflow. Though Biogen is in process with updating our systems, so far my experience has been that our systems are slow, outdated, clunky, and inefficient. At least in Patient Services.
Pros
Benefits are still good, but appear to be chipped away at. Pipeline does appear to be improving as the number of Phase 3 clinical trials has increased in the last couple of years.
Cons
Senior leadership in Cambridge, MA is far too detached from ground truth in RTP, NC where a vast majority of manufacturing occurs. Decision making has continually been stripped away from mid-level or frontline, on-site leadership and pushed up to a fewer number of more senior leaders at headequarters in MA. This has led to disempowerment and a growing sense of impotence for NC based management. Additionally, there is no feedback mechanism for these MA based leaders to evaluate if the decisions they are making are reaching the right people in all the groups. As a result, cross-functional cooperation and efficiency has suffered greatly. Work/life balance is horrible whith few, if any, positions lost to attrition are back-filled.
