Pros

Great place for RB alums and bullies alike. Pay is average. Benefits could be worse. Allowed to take off 7 summer Fridays and the week between Christmas and New Year's.

Cons

To say the culture at Coty is toxic implies that there is a culture to begin with. What exists at Coty is more akin to tribalism. It is a ruthless inconsistent system of "blame and shame" that rewards backstabbing and gossip while punishing new ways of thinking. Whoever shows the most blind loyalty and obedience is given promotions. This is why most of us left RB in the first place. It is scary to see it resurface here. Morale is at an all time low. People are looking for the door. Entire teams are interviewing and we have people jumping at the first opportunity they have just to get out. We are currently experiencing a mass exodus of highly talented, hardworking employees. People are sick of the favoritism and lack of transparency from leadership. We are watching as great people are losing faith and leaving. We've lost multiple people in the month of January all citing the same reasons for leaving. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. They're leaving for a reason. HR is no help. When approached about changing roles they simply copy leadership and politely tell you to "tough it out". No chance at a long term career at Coty. 1-2 years at best. On a personal note I am deeply disturbed when I hear about people breaking down at work. The office should be a support system. I always heard rumors but did not fully understand until I listened to a colleague breakdown in the bathroom over being singled out in front of her whole team. Anxiety and fear are the new currency at Coty. My advice for anyone joining is to befriend someone from leadership and stay well liked. Go to the bar put up with the jokes and objectification. It's just the price you pay for having a career. You will be treated well and if you stay in his good graces you may even get a promotion.

Coty takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and we have a hotline available for anyone that would like to bring their concerns to our attention (hotline.coty.com). Reports can be made on-line or by phone in any language. Reports are routed directly to our Chief Compliance Officer, who will ensure an objective investigation. The hotline also enables a confidential – and anonymous, if preferred – method for sharing information directly with our Compliance Officer. We encourage reporters to provide sufficient information in order to conduct a thorough investigation. Coty will not tolerate retaliation against anyone raising concerns in good faith.

Pros

ONLY pro's are summer Fridays and week off between Christmas and New Years.

Cons

Work life balance is poor. New CEO is nothing more than a fall guy for Chairman. He will be blamed for plumetting sales and will be fired albeit it is the chairman's mess. Brands are in a complete state of disaray. Stock is falling faster than the Dow in 2008. Company is an absolute disaster right now. HR people have quit. Layoffs just started in the US and of course nothing is happening in Europe due to tight labor laws. My entire department staff are seeking other employment. This is like witnessing a train wreckin slow motion. They have added many layers of VP's/SVP's/EVP's since aquisition but down at the bottom we are receiving no support. We are not building brands. Grey market is a joke. Our brands are flooded across discount retailers and websites that should not have our product. It is a shame what has happened to this company in the past 5 years. Now it is simply about pushing product to market to try to meet a financial number. Once a fabulous company it is in a complete state of disrepair.

Pros

Beautiful office in Calabasas. Great portfolio of brands for those interested in beauty, specifically in the salon professional category. 1/2 day Summer Fridays and several paid vacation days.

Cons

Horrible options for digital asset management. I cannot believe we are going back to Sharepoint vs. something more efficient like Box or Dropbox. The hierarchical culture. Sub par employees managing to fail forward. Lack of passion or enthusiasm for the professionals we are supposed to serve. Corporate processes that make us followers vs. first to market. Managers that have conversation amnesia. HR doesn’t look out for the employee’s well being. Their role is to prevent the company from getting sued. Make sure to document everything even if things are going well for you.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such extensive feedback. In fact, you have addressed so many topics, unfortunately we cannot give the attention required in this format. Please speak with your manager about ways to incorporate your feedback into action. Your have many great ideas that can certainly help Coty develop as a market leader. You also noted a concern with HR's focus on employees. Employees are the connective-tissue at Coty & at the forefront of everything we do. If you are encountering experiences inconsistent with this statement, please reach out to your local HR member. Thank you!
