I was invited to interview with the company via email and promptly provided my available time slots. However, it took 7 days for the team to confirm the interview schedule.
The interview was with the hiring manager for the role and was scheduled for 4:30 AM my time, as they are based in the UK. I made the effort to wake up early and prepare for the video call. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I emailed both the hiring manager and the scheduler to inform them that I would be 5 minutes late. Unfortunately, I received no response, and neither of them joined the Zoom call.
I followed up with another email requesting to reschedule but never received any acknowledgment or reply.
Two weeks later, I received a rejection email, which I expected given the circumstances. However, I was deeply frustrated by the generic rejection template they used. It implied that I had been interviewed and received positive feedback, which was entirely inaccurate. I was appalled by the lack of professionalism and reached out to remind the team that I was never interviewed due to their lack of communication and acknowledgment.
This experience left me disappointed and questioning the company's hiring process and communication standards.
Here is the first paragraph of the email I received:
"Thank you very much for taking the time to discuss the People Data Analyst role at Wayve with me and for interviewing with .
Whilst there was some positive feedback from the session, we are very fortunate to have received a lot of high-quality candidates, and unfortunately, have decided to move forward with other candidates we believe are more suited for our requirements. We know that a lot of time and effort goes into a job application, and we appreciate that you took the time to apply."
