I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Optimum (Bethpage, NY) in Jun 2025

I had 4 rounds. Initial was a recruiter screen, next I had to do a technical. The technical was not too difficult, it was some relatively easy programming questions with a focus on TDD.
Then I had a system design interview, in which I had to design a platform like Youtube. The final round was a conversation with a VP.
I applied online. I interviewed at Optimum (New York, NY) in Feb 2026
Interview
I cannot describe the level of frustration that I feel with this process, the whole thing is such a mess and it is so deeply frustrating.
To tell my story, I passed through every stage of the interview process, from the initial recruiter call, to the systems design interview (that I asked for clarification on as the recruiter thought it was a coding problem, but turns out the technical recruiter didn't even know what LeetCode was), the actual coding interview, and then the final call with the VP. I essentially had a verbal offer from the VP directly and then they slowly started giving me fewer and fewer updates on legal processes they were going through, before telling me that the position was never open for immigrants. My immigration status was something I gave at every single step of the process, talking about it at length at every single opportunity and they still somehow didn't know that the position wasn't open for immigrants. The worst part is is that they didn't even tell me until I had followed up with them straight for 4 months. I have never been strung along by a company for so long and so ostensibly. I cannot voice my disappointment enough.

Lots of questions about my immigration status, though apparently still didn't know I was an immigrant lol
Take Home Assessment -> In Person Interview. Take home assessment was building an application(5-10 hours) with guidelines and expectations. In person interview was to describe the thought process and to walk through the code of the assessment.
