      Frontend Developer Interview

      Nov 25, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Tempe, AZ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at KUBRA (Tempe, AZ) in Nov 2024

      Interview

      - HR call - Hackerrank - Virtual - Onsite A day after the onsite, I received a call from my recruiter and was told that I was their number one candidate at this time and they wanted to move forward. We talked about the next step which would be reference checks. He talked about having an offer for me by the end of the week, and said this was now an expedited hiring and that I would have to sign my offer in 3 days once I received it. Completed my references and no update for 3 days. I finally followed up asking for an update and was told the team decided to go in a different direction with this role whatever that means. I feel like the least he could do was to provide me with a better update than something generic. Not to mention that he didn't even bother updating me until I reached out. My experience interviewing with the engineering team was great and I could see myself working with these people. But it's the lack of communication from the recruiter towards the end that really left a bad taste and it doesn’t seem in line with the “great” culture they boast about. And not only did I waste my time going through their entire process but they asked my references to fill out some forms on Xref which required time and effort from their end. I'm confused as to how the "top candidate" and "expedited hiring" results in this outcome. I see they reposted their FE role again. I would advise not going through their process right now because it seems like they're not even sure if they want to hire people at this time/don't know what they want.
