I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Centene in May 2024
Interview
Started with a screening interview with HR with a panel interview with the hiring manager and two other managers. Asked standard interview questions and situational “tell us about a time…”

Question 1
Tell us why you are the most qualified candidate for the position.
Fairly typical process with four rounds. It unfortunately began with a pre-recorded/one-way interview, which felt lazy. Made it through the rounds but was rejected by an automatic Workday email rather than the recruiter who I’ve been interacting with throughout the process after reaching out to them for an update. Felt less than personal overall.

Question 1
What’s your experience in healthcare? How do you feel about being an individual contributor with a manager title?
It was behavioral. They asked questions to make sure you knew about the company. It is a large company by revenue, but it has an unknown name. Additionally, they want to hear about local roots. Most of the people that work at the HQ grew up in St. Louis
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Centene in Dec 2024
Interview
Three rounds - hr, hiring manager, panel. Open conversations, no dumb skills tests aka free work, very transparent on job requirements and expectations. Some confusion on timing of responses post calls, but HR contacts were extremely helpful throughout the process.

Question 1
Why centene. Always an annoying question because the real answer is "I just want a job somewhere"
